Hi, and welcome to my website!
I hope and trust that here you'll find the complementary therapy and in-depth support you're looking for.
Are you struggling with any of the following...
* a cancer diagnosis and everything that goes with that?
* a child who is having emotional difficulties or struggling at school or college?
* overcoming trauma, including from childhood?
* general emotional issues and in need of some support?
Have you been looking for help and support for some time now, but not found any lasting relief or any real changes?
Then you're in the right place, as I can help.
I am an Advanced EFT Practitioner and have been using EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) since 2006 as not only does it work, and work really well, EFT also gets to the root cause of issues and brings relief to a huge variety of conditions.
It is effective as a quick & easy "in the moment" stress-relief tool as well as helping over time with more serious issues such as anxiety, depression, single or complex trauma and PTSD.
What does this mean for YOU?
It means I can help you with much more than just symptom control - together we can make real, lasting changes.
Maybe you've already worked on things before, or are taking medication, but feel things are still not as good as they could be? Perhaps some emotional support is missing?
As an Advanced EFT Practitioner, I often see people who are not satisfied with the results of the conventional methods of help that they have tried. This could be for various reasons, for example a medication only being able to deal with the symptoms but not the underlying cause, so the problem continues.
It is always so rewarding when working with people and being able to help them reach a whole new level of progress and relief once we address and release the emotional components of their issues, using EFT.
Imagine what this could do for you - how might YOU benefit from receiving similar help and support?
Where and how I work
I provide face to face sessions from my practice in Harold Wood, Romford, (just 3 mins walk from Harold Wood station). It is also easily accessible from Hornchurch, Upminster and surrounding areas.
I can also provide Skype or Zoom sessions if you are too far away to get to Harold Wood.
What makes me qualified to work with these issues?
I have experience of all the above conditions & challenges and understand the effects these can have on you as the individual, as well as the impact on family members. I use my experiences and what worked for me, combined with knowledge and training from numerous experts, to enable me to help others.
My experience of having a loved one with cancer
I have been fortunate to not experienced cancer myself, however, I have lived my Mum's experience of it alongside her, whilst attending all her appointments and supporting her through every aspect of it when she had cancer twice within a few years. So I have seen and felt the fear of the diagnosis, the dread whilst waiting for test results, the awful side effects of treatment and the myriad of other challenges that go hand in hand with a cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately I didn't know EFT back then, so I wasn't able to use it to help my Mum, but I have worked with other cancer patients since then. They have benefitted from EFT in many ways, such as releasing strong, unwanted emotions, releasing the trauma of diagnosis, for pain relief, to help aid sleep and reduce nausea.
My experience as a parent of a struggling student who has ADHD and autism
Having a child with undiagnosed ADHD and autism until he was 11 and 14 respectively, resulted in my son struggling emotionally and at school for a number of years. As a parent, this was very painful to watch, particularly as the kind of help he was being offered (if any at all) wasn't working. This was especially true when the only thing being offered by one of his schools were detentions, when in fact what he needed was emotional support. Not only were the detentions not working to address the underlying cause of his difficulties, he was also missing out on vital support that could have made a huge difference to his overall and day-to-day experiences at school. This has left me wanting to spare other parents/careers as much of that pain as I can, so I have a great interest in working with students who are struggling emotionally, particularly if they have been or are about to be excluded. The support I offer can be tailored to the specific needs of individuals or I can tailor it for small group work.
My experience of childhood trauma, PTSD - and recovery
I grew up in an environment of domestic abuse happening on an almost daily basis for the first 18 years of my life. Unsurprisingly, this impacted me in many ways - and for decades afterwards - leaving me traumatised and experiencing PTSD. I struggled for many years to find the right help to overcome my childhood trauma but eventually did this when I found a very skilled, trauma-informed EFT Therapist and worked with him at a very deep level. This has benefited all areas of my life - not only as a client but also as an EFT Therapist - and as a result, I'm now in the fortunate position of being able to "give back" to others by passing on what worked for me and help you find emotional and pyschological relief from similar or other traumas.
My Contribution To The World - My Book On How I Overcame Childhood Trauma, Using EFT
Another way I am choosing to "give back" and hopefully help even more people, is to write a book on overcoming my childhood trauma, using EFT. I am currently in the process of writing it, detailing my treatment and recovery process, from my own perspective, and also with contributions from my EFT Therapist from his perspective. I hope this will make the book even more interesting, but more importantly, helpful to more people - both trauma survivors and Therapists alike. If there is anything in particular you would like covered in the book, please let me know as I value your input so I can do my best to produce a book that really meets your needs.
I Extend Support to Teachers & Parents of Struggling Students and Families of Cancer Patients
I have experienced first hand the impact on the rest of the family in situations such as a child struggling emotionally and a family member receiving a cancer diagnosis. This is why I extend my work to include family members as they are often struggling with emotional isssues and need support too, but don't always receive it. I offer small group support for both you as the individual and a separate group for your family. This ensures you are all able to fully explore your difficulties, in a safe & supportive environment, using EFT to allow you to work through issues, bringing much needed relief to everyone.
When a child is struggling emotionally, having meltdowns at school or getting behind with school work, this often impacts those around them too. That is exactly why I also extend support to schools - directly to teachers in need of stress relief and indirectly by teaching them ways to support struggling students, benefiting everyone in the classroom.
As an example of just how effective EFT can be, just 2 weeks after learning the basics of it, I successfully used it to HALT & REVERSE my son's ASTHMA ATTACK - as you can imagine, I became an 'instant believer' in this technique! But back in 2006 I had no idea how to explain it to the A&E staff when I took my son there afterwards to get him checked out as a precaution. I figured they would have a hard time believing that I had resolved his asthma attack by "Tapping a few points on his face" and would probably want to get me help next, thinking I had gone crazy, so I wisely left that part out as EFT was not so well known back then! I'm pleased to say EFT is now widely known and used all across the world, with much research to support its effectiveness.
My Approach - having seen time & again what produces the best results, this is how I like to work;
* Build essential trust & rapport with clients by being open & honest
* Create a safe space & supportive environment to allow the work to unfold naturally
* Listen closely to what my clients are saying & allow them to "feel heard" & validated
* Work in a relaxed & friendly - but very professional - manner at all times
* Be flexible & responsive to individual client's needs
* Encompass all levels of the individual - physical, mental, emotional & spiritual
* Go much deeper than just the surface level symptoms
* Work closely with clients to identify and work on the ROOT CAUSE of issues
* Which in turn produces long lasting improvements & positive change
I have successfully trained as a Practitioner in the following and incorporate these into my work;
* EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques - Levels 1, 2 & 3
* NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming - Level 1
* IET - Integrated Energy Techniques - Diploma (including Eriksonian Hypnosis)
* Reiki - Levels 1 & 2 (I use this separately from EFT as a non-talking method of stress relief and healing)
I draw upon my extensive personal experience and training from PODS as well as knowledge gained from other trauma experts to inform my work, using;
* Trauma-informed techniques for working safely with dissociation, trauma & PTSD
* Self regulation & grounding strategies and building resilience
* I also draw on strategies from mindfulness, sensorimotor work & nervous system re-setting
